East Alabama Emergency Nurses Association 5k
On Saturday, May 4, 2013, the East Alabama ENA will host the East Alabama Emergency Nurses Association 5k. This is a fundraising event held in memory of Gaye Bowman. Gaye was one of the organizations founding members in 1991. She passed away just two days before she planned to retire from a 20+ year career in the Emergency Department of East Alabama Medical Center. During her career she trained hundreds of nurses and paramedics, provided care to thousands of patients, and was a respected mentor for the members of the local ENA. The money raised by this event will provide educational scholarships to local chapter members and some will be donated to the Cancer Center of EAMC and the PE Program at Richland Road Elementary. If your life has ever been touched by an emergency room nurse, plan to join us at this event.

Time: 5k starts at 8 am with 1 mile fun run to follow at 9 am.

T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered by April 20. A limited number of shirts will be available on race day.
PURPOSE
This is a fundraising event for the East Alabama Chapter of the Emergency Nurses Association. Funds will primarily provide educational support for chapter members. Donations will also be made to support local charities in memory of founding member, Gaye Bowman. Gaye Bowman was one of the founding chapter members and a long time employee of EAMC’s Emergency Dept. If your life has ever been touched by an emergency room nurse, come out and support this event.

DOOR PRIZES
Door prizes including gift certificates, coupons, and other small non-monetary gifts will be given away on race day.

$100 cash to overall male and female 5k winner; $50 cash to 2nd place overall male and female 5k; Medals to the top two finishers in each of the following age groups, male and female:
